Royal Thai Government Grants Visa Exemption for Tourists from India from 11 May 2024 to 11 November 2024 – On 09 May 2024, the Cabinet of Thailand approved the visa exemption scheme for holders of ordinary passports (or travel document holders) of India to enter and stay within the Kingdom of Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days. Also, If Indian passport holder applicants with a stay period in Thailand of less than 30 days wants to apply for a tourist visa is permissible.

Despite the implementation of the visa exemption scheme, it is essential to note that the standard visa application procedures for all categories, including tourist visas, remain unchanged during this period. The regular visa application process is fully operational, offering applicants the flexibility to choose the option that best suits their needs.

For those applicants with a stay period in Thailand of less than 30 days, seeking an ordinary tourist visa is permissible. However, it is imperative to emphasize that the Consulate will uphold the non-refundable nature of the visa fee in case applicants decide to transition to the visa exemption scheme
